What do I need to reserve a field for my game or event?
It is important for you to reserve a field for your use to make sure that you are the only group assigned to that field. This gives your group sole use of the field that you requested and you will have a permit to show that you reserved the field.
How do I reserve a field?
Complete and return field reservation form’s available on the Vernon Township webiste: www.vernontwp.com. or in person.
General Field rules
All organized groups must have a permit
Use field listed on your permit and only during your scheduled times
Fields are not to be used if they have been closed due to inclement weather
- Possession or consumption of alcohol is prohibited
- Trash must be placed in trash cans
Field maintenance is only to be performed by authorized DPW personnel

Important Info
A Permit is Required - Ordinance #00-25 states that any organized group who wants to use a field or picnic area must obtain a permit.
No Smoking of any kind - All Vernon Township open space and parks are smoke free facilities. Ordinance #05-22.
Leash Laws - All pets must be in contol or confined and on a leash at all times in any of our park facilities. Ordinance #02-25.
Parking - You are only permitted to park in designated parking spots. Parking anywhere else will be at risk of being towed at the owners expense.
Clean up after pets - Clean up after your pets. Waste disposal bags are provided at every park for your convenience.
Park Signage - Rules are posted in all parks and on www.vernontwp.com It is your responsibility to know the rules and follow them.
Synthetic Turf Rules
- No gum chewing, sunflower seeds or eating or drinking on the field
- No metal cleats of any kind
- No strollers or lawn chairs on the turf
- Please pick up goals if they need to be moved. DO NOT drag them
- No golfing
- No bicycles
- No vehicles
- Lights are scheduled by Vernon Township Recreation
- No pets on turf at any time
