The volunteers of the Board of Recreation champion Vernon's strengths by orchestrating innovative programs and events. Devise cost-effective initiatives catering to diverse age groups. Foster collaboration with town committees, boards, and civic organizations for a unified approach. Contribute to the advancement of a thriving community. Solicit input from our valued Vernon residents, inspiring the cultivation of novel ideas for collective development as well as physically attend and man events that are hosted. 

It makes recommendations, reviews recreation initiatives, engages volunteers and promotes the township’s parks and recreation programs.

The board consists of up to seven township residents and two alternates, all of whom are appointed by the mayor and serve a three year term.
