Vernon Township Proudly Honors Service Members with our Hometown Hero Banner Program

Vernon Township is launching a Hometown Heroes Banner Program as a living tribute for our community to honor a Vernon resident or former resident that has served or is currently serving in any branch of the United States Armed Forces or Space Force.

The banners will be double-sided, 24” x 48” vinyl, and displayed for up to five years. Each banner will include a photo of the soldier in uniform; along with their name, branch, dates of service, conflict, rank, and any medals or accommodations.

Banner Information, Location, and Pricing

• Banners will be displayed on up to 50 dedicated light poles throughout the Vernon Town Center from Memorial Day through November for up to 5 years.
• Applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Any submissions beyond the number of avilable poles will be added to a wait list. One banner per service member.
• The location of the banners will be determined by The Township.
• A fee of $125 is required for each submission. The fee includes the production of the banner, installation and removal.
• The nominator must provide a good quality digital photo of high resolution.
• Make checks payable to Vernon Township and reference “Hometown Heroes Banner” in the memo.

Waiver and Limitations

Vernon Township will install and maintain the banners for up to 5 years, or once they show signs of deterioration, after which time they will be removed and returned to the sponsor. The Township reserves the right to not install a banner if the requirements of this banner program are not met.

Vernon Township reserves the irrevocable right to use the photograph/image/likeness in all forms and manner in promotional materials without notification or additional permission.
