Ordinance of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey, Amending Chapter 148 and Chapter 250 of the Code of the Township of Vernon Regarding Potentially Dangerous Dogs

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and the Council of the Township of Vernon, County of Sussex, and State of New Jersey, as follows:
Section 7 of Chapter 148 (definitions) of the Code of the Township of Vernon shall be amended to include “potentially dangerous dog.” A potentially dangerous dog is one that has been adjudicated to be a potentially dangerous in accordance with N.J.S.A. 4:19-23.
Section 15 of Chapter 250, entitled “Animal Control” of the Code of the Township of Vernon shall be modified as follows:
Q. Potentially Dangerous Dog license $700
The various parts, sections and clauses of this Ordinance are hereby declared to be severable. If any part, sentence, paragraph, section or clause is adjudged unconstitutional or invalid by a court of competence jurisdiction, the remainder of this Ordinance shall not be affected thereby.
Any ordinances or parts thereof in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are hereby repealed as to their inconsistencies only.
This Ordinance shall take effect immediately upon final publication as provided by law.
