Statement of Compliance
The following statement of compliance was read by Craig Williams.
Pursuant to the Open Public Meetings Act, Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 adequate notice as defined in Section 3D of Chapter 231, P.L. 1975 has been communicated from the Vernon Municipal Center to the New Jersey Herald and published on January 18, 2007. Notice is also posted on the bulletin board and filed with the office of the Township Clerk.
Roll Call
The roll call of members was called and Dennis Downey, Michael Furrey, Gary Grey (arrived 8:09 p.m.), Brenda Susman and Craig Williams were present.

Approval of Meeting Minutes
Dennis Downey made a motion to approve the May 22, 2007 minutes; Craig Williams seconded the motion.
Applications Under Review
ZB #5-07-8: Bruce Zaretsky—Storm Water Management & Revised Plans and Existing & Proposed Drainage Plan
The EC agreed the application does not create significant environmental impact.
PB #5-07-5: Edward Talmo, The Cedars @ Black Creek Reserve—Maintenance Plan for Storm Water Structure, Drainage Report & Revised Site Plan
The EC noted that an LOI has verified freshwater wetlands. The EC agreed the structures located on lots one and two are constrained by steep slope ESAs.
PB #5-07-6: Top of Vernon—Revised Site Plan
The EC agreed the application addresses the environmental concerns.
Planning Board Liaison Report
David Gornstein was not present.
New Business
McAfee Redevelopment Plan
Craig Williams suggested the EC become actively involved with the redevelopment plans.
Old Business
Tree Ordinance
The EC agreed to re-circulate the draft ordinance. Brenda Susman distributed an outline detailing the purpose of the ordinance.
Stream Clearing
The EC discussed the stream clearing event and also suggestions to improve next year’s event.
C1 Nominations
The EC discussed whether or not to comment. The EC agreed to confer with the PB to hold a forum to discuss the nominations.
Adjournment
There being no further items of business for the regular meeting, a motion was made by Brenda Susman to adjourn the meeting; Michael Furrey seconded the motion. The regular meeting of the Vernon Township Environmental Commission was adjourned at 9:30 p.m.
